If you’re seeking a soil that can easily retain water and nutrients during the drier and more challenging summer months, then our loam soil, also known as sandy loam, is a popular choice. Screened to a thickness of 10mm, it works especially well when mixed 50/50 with a good quality compost.

Thanks to the unique structure and composition, which contains a high proportion of sand, sandy loam can retain moisture and nutrients while still being free draining and easy to use in the colder months. This makes it ideal for turfing and seeding.

As a single-source high-quality screed and naturally occurring topsoil, our sandy loam soil comes from a prime arable soil that is naturally fertile, rich in organic matter and has high levels of microbial activity. This makes it a versatile product that suits a variety of applications including:
